AI (D8)

This post discusses the potential dangers of artificial intelligence (AI) taking over and the importance of managing AI effectively.

AI (D8)
Don't let this happen to you!

I use the Value Exchange System language (VESvocab) to highlight the dangers that Artificial Intelligence (AI) poses to humanity when it becomes an Alien Intelligence. Visually, the red block takes over! Here is how.

Where both people and the roles they play have assets. The warning is that if assets within a role contain AI, the AI could potentially take over, leading to a scenario where superintelligence controls all assets. How can that be?

At some point, superintelligence may dawn.
• Prior to that, the layer of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology
underlying business activities (People undertaking Roles and related Deliverables ) "may develop activities independently of human direction and will":- Dr Dionysios Demetis – Hull University Business School.
• Hence, learn to manage AI effectively for as long as possible, avoiding the "technofear" mindset that prevailed in the 1980's when the IBM PC hit us.
• For example, use VESvocab to scope out the challenges within business enterprises...

Participants (P) in a Process initiated the movement of Deliverables.

In a Value Exchange System (VES) both People and the Roles played have Assets.

If Assets within a Role contain AI, it uses the data sets and analytical power to tackle human challenges. However...

if AI "takes over" the consequences could (and probably will) be disastrous.

Overall, this serves as a cautionary tale about the risks of AI and emphasizes the need for proactive measures to control and manage its development.

Developments in information system design formulated and applied 50 years ago, provide insight on how this can be achieved, with VES leading the way.
